The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ambassador Olivier Nduhungirehe, said that Tshisekedi should read Dr. Alain’s message carefully.
He made this statement based on the testimony of Dr. Alain Destexhe, former Senator in Belgium and Secretary General of the MSF (Médecins sans frontières), who recently visited eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Dr. Alain said that he spoke to various people who have information on the FDLR.
Dr. Alain said: “When I was in Kivu, I collected many testimonies on the FDLR. The sources told me that their numbers increased because they were being provided with weapons, equipment and money by Flex Antoine Tshisekedi in the war against M23@”.
Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe said that Tshisekedi, who told heads of state that the FDRL is a group made up of old fighters during the Central African Community (CEEAC) summit, should read Alain’s message carefully.
Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe said: “Perhaps Tshisekedi should read this message carefully, he who told the heads of state of the (CEEAF) a false story that the FDRL is a group in name only, whose fighters are old men who have lived for 30 years of persecution since 1994.”
