FC Barcelona posted a photo on their social media channels showing that they have signed the goalkeeper. Joan Garcia has signed a 6-year contract until 2031 and has been paid 25 million euros.
Joan Garcia played for his native RDC Espanyol in Spain, and is very tall, standing at 1.91m.
FC Barcelona signed the goalkeeper against a number of other clubs, including Newcastle United, who had a 20% chance of signing him, Arsenal, who had a 51% chance of signing him, Real Madrid, who had a 17% chance of signing him, Manchester United, who had a 13% chance of signing him, while FC Barcelona, who bought him, had a 79% chance of signing him.
Joan Garcia played for Spain’s Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 teams.
The goalkeeper joins the team alongside Polish international Wojciech Szczęsny, who has helped FC Barcelona to a successful La Liga campaign.
